Caroline & Andy | A English Country Village Hall Wedding at Hambleden, Henley-on-Thames
Updated: Jun 17, 2020
I first met Caroline and Andy at the picturesque village of Hambleden, which would be the location of their beautiful wedding in the coming months. Whilst we had a spot of dinner in the local pub, we spoke about their dreams for their wedding in the charming village and the day itself was everything we spoke about and more.
I started the day with Caroline and her Bridal party over in Toast cottage, behind the old Hovis bakery. Caroline had the lovely Rachel of Enigma Mobile Hairdressing on hand to create stunning hair styles for the all bridal party. Caroline's beautiful lace dress was from Agnes Fashion's and when she descend the stairs, both her dad, Peter and her bridesmaids where in awe at the first glimpse.
After a few bridal photos, I left the Caroline having a glass of Prosecco and headed over to the village pub, the Stag and Huntsman, in search of the Andy, who I found having a pint with the arriving guests. Not long after we made our way to the village Church ready for the Brides arrival. The ceremony itself was so special and sealed with a traditional kiss.
All of the flowers for the day were made by the very talented Sleeping Flower Company, creators of stunning bespoke dried and silk flower designs - yes that's right! None of Carolines flowers were "real" and could be cherished for years to come.
After lots of hugs and congratulations, we spent some time capturing some great group shots outside the church, followed by myself and the newly married Caroline and Andy, taking a little tour of the village for the couples photos. I love this time, as it is the first moment all day the couple get to spend time just together (plus me!) and I felt very privileged to capture these moments for Caroline and Andy.
Retiring to the Village Hall, the couple sat down for a yummy meal provided by Dublicious Foods, who later in the evening also cooked the best lamb flatbread burgers EVER. The heartfelt and special speeches came from Groom, Bestman and Andy's son Josh, the lovely Bridesmaids and from Caroline herself. Andy and Caroline decided not to an official cake cut, but their amazing cake was out on display and made by the very talented Jan Gutteridge of Cuppy Cakes.
The party continued into the night, and after a lovely first dance, included some shapes being cut to some absolutely classics - the Macarena and Saturday Day Night anyone? I left the party in full swing about 10pm and could not have enjoyed the day more.
Thank you again Caroline and Andy for allowing me to capture your day for you; you are genuinely two of the most welcoming and warm people I have ever met, and I am so happy for you both. I really hope you treasure your photos for years to come and I wish you nothing but the best in your marriage together.
Love Annie x
